Honors Welcome Dinner

Last weekend, following the first few days of classes, the Honors Student Association Executive Board and I hosted an Honors Welcome Dinner for the largest cohort of incoming honors freshmen ever! We discussed the freshmen theme (Reflection and Discernment) in the context of their honors application essay, ate some delicious picnic food, and played lots of outdoor games at beautiful Loose Park. Some of the festivities are pictured here. We are looking forward to an exciting year in the Honors Program with this new group!

About Me

- I received my B.S. and M.S. in Biology from Lamar University, Beaumont, TX and earned my PhD. in Biology, with focus on mammalian evolutionary genetics, from Texas A&M University in December of 2005. I began teaching in the Department of Biology at Rockhurst University in fall of 2006. In 2007, I returned to conducting research on reptiles and have been excited to have the opportunity to incorporate student contributions into these studies. Last year, I was thrilled to become the Director of the University Honors Program; and I am excited to play a role in incorporating students into the Rockhurst family by blogging about my experiences as a member of the Rockhurst community.
